Deidra R. Turner has served as the Associate Director in the Center
for Academic Services since January 2008. Before coming to Academic
Services, she was an Academic Advisor for the Neeley School of
Business from 2004 to 2007. Deidra has also worked in student
affairs, including fraternity and sorority life, recreational
sports, housing, and student programming.
Deidra holds a B.A. in Sociology from TCU, an M.Ed. in Student
Personnel in Higher Education from the University of Georgia, and a
Ph.D. in Sociology with an emphasis in Gender, Race, and Ethnicity
from Texas A&M University.
Deidra volunteers with the TCU Black Alumni Alliance and is an
active member of the Fort Worth Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha
Sorority, Inc. She has presented at many conferences, including the
Association of Fraternity Advisors Annual Conference, the
Southwestern Black Student Leadership Conference, and other student
leadership conferences.
Deidra is married to fellow Horned Frog, Darron Turner, who serves
as the Assistant Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs at TCU. She
enjoys reading, scrapbooking, and attending plays. |
