Approval for Transfer Work Current TCU Students If you are a currently enrolled TCU student who wishes to complete courses at another institution, you should first discuss your plan with your academic advisor. You must also receive prior approval from your academic dean. To receive approval, you should submit an Academic Action Form to your academic dean. The dean will determine whether the proposed transfer courses may be accepted and applied to a degree at TCU. You may take up to 12 credit hours at another institution. Once you have earned 54 or more credit hours (junior status), you may not take transfer classes at a two-year college/community college. You must earn a grade of "C" or higher in order for the courses to transfer to TCU. After completing the courses, you must request that the other institution send your official transcript to the TCU Office of the Registrar, TCU Box 297004, Fort Worth, Texas 76129. Transfer courses do NOT factor into your TCU cumulative grade point average (GPA) or count toward repeat options. New Freshmen/Transfer Students New TCU students who have credit hours from another institution should submit complete, official transcripts from all previously attended institutions to the TCU Office of Admissions, TCU Box 297013, Fort Worth, Texas 76129. The Office of Admissions will evaluate all previous course work and determine whether it will count for credit at TCU. The student's major department will determine if and how transfer courses will apply toward major/minor requirements. Transcripts should be forwarded as early as possible during the admission process to facilitate the evaluation process. For more information
